Herb Tansu

Tansu with 62 drawers: 60 small above and two larger ones at the bottom. Knobs have been replaced, wood frame is chestnut, drawers are cedar. Unusual shelving at the back which was probably used to store stock. This kind of chest was an integral part of an herbalist's shop in the early 20th century. It is a beautiful piece of furniture that can be applied to modern day use storing kitchen herbs, or for a collector of small objects such as beads, and of course a dream of a jewelry case! Cleaned and waxed. Fabulous condition at a great price.
