Miniature woven bamboo with agate ojime and jade netsuke. Beautiful workmanship with delicate hinges and clasp. The bamboo weaver was definitely a gifted artist. A precious jewel with a necessary function, to carry a valuable personal seal or stamp. Most probably owned by an affluent merchant. Japanese, Meiji period, 19th century. 2 1/4" x 1 3/4".
